Welcome to North Lizard Riding School

We are situated on the outskirts of South Shields and Whitburn, near Sunderland, in a semi rural area, completely surrounded by golf courses. If you happen to be a golfing enthusiast, you could play whilst your family ride. Also nearby is Lizard Lane caravan site.

We are easily accessible by public transport. From our newly constructed all weather arena are fabulous views of the coast up to Alnmouth.

North Lizard Riding School was established around 1948 and is owned by Mr Eric J Nunn. Our newest facilities include a well-stocked tack shop, a tuck shop and an all-weather 20 by 40 fenced arena with a viewing gallery. We are a relatively small yard, so a friendly, personal, service is guaranteed. Currently, there are 20 working horses ranging from 10hh to 16hh.

All standards and ages are catered for. Qualified riding instruction is available and riding is always accompanied. Tuition is on group or private basis and tailored to suit your needs. Hacks are by the hour or two hours through the nearby coastal park or Cleadon Hills and Marsden Craggs. Whether young or old, riding is an excellent healthy outdoor hobby. Many customers comment on how stress-relieving a lesson or hack is.
